We're currently working a list of contributers and artists and PHOTOS for some of our favorite Handbag designs. Please check back soon, as we'll be making updates daily!
This we've been asked several times. However, we're having difficulty working out the details since the bags are mostly one-of-a-kind, and we have no way to take credit card payments or process shipping.
All of the bags we turn into handbags are unused. Many people & organizations did not use all of the sandbags they purchased to actually fill with sand and build barricades. Our bags are donated, leftover, unused, and yes, completely clean, bags. I guess you can say, we give the unwanted little guys new purpose. :)
We are taking donations of unused bags from anyone who is interested in contributing to the cause. Or who just wants to unload their extra sandbags.
In June of 2008, the much of the eastern portion of the state of Iowa went quite literally, under. Spilling into the 500 year flood plane, muddy river water devastated city streets, businesses, schools and homes…many of which will never recover.
Hundreds of volunteers spent long, backbreaking hours sandbagging in an effort to salvage as much as possible before the waters rose. Their efforts have not gone unappreciated.
Now that the waters have receded and cleanup has begun…what on earth will we do with all those leftover sandbags?

Is there a way to purchase a bag online?

Where are you located?
How are you going about cleaning the bags to make them sanitary??

What if we would make grocery bags out of these sand bags. Keeping 'green' and recycling to boot! patsy
